Where to Stay

We recommend booking as soon as you know you’re coming. This is Mother’s Day weekend, even in Italy. There are many places to stay in Rome, we have provided some options below from luxurious hotels, to budget options, vacation rentals and local connections. Please choose a place that aligns to your budget and desired experience. If you want to stay near the Vatican, the neighborhoods Prati and Ponte are recommended. Otherwise, LonelyPlanet has great recommendations. Additional links at the bottom of this page are provided to help you search for deals.

Budget and more Affordable options ~$100-250/night

In general, apartments like airbnbs are a better value near the Vatican and in Rome than hotels, especially if you want the apartment experience. We recommend looking at apartments or vacation rentals like https://www.airbnb.com/ or https://www.vrbo.com/. It is possible to rent entire apartments with multiple bedrooms and a kitchen for less than the Mid-Range and Luxurious hotels listed below.

Alternative affordable solutions are to stay with locals: https://www.homestay.com/, https://www.couchsurfing.com/, https://friendshipforce.org/

Mid Range Hotels ~$250-500/night

Residenza San Paolo VI  (Near the Vatican)

NH Collection Roma Giustiniano  (Near the Vatican)

Luxury Hotels ~$600-$900/night

Splurge Luxury Hotels ~$1k+/night
